More than a church attender, Margi loved the church and gave much of her free time to the Church. She took her love of God all over the world and would share her testimony with anyone who would listen. Margi loved Jesus! As a small child, she believed in Jesus for her salvation. Feeding and caring for her family, friends and church was one of Margi’s many gifts. She enjoyed hosting people in her home for a family meal and always contributed to church potlucks. Her pies, jams, breads and cakes won many awards at the Los Angeles County Fair and other baking competitions. Margi was an accomplished cook and baker. For many years, Margi played piano and helped lead singing for the Gig Harbor Church of the Nazarene and Peninsula Retirement Center. Music took Margi all over the United States and even traveled to sing in England. She sang in church, school and community choirs recording albums with Azusa Pacific College and Breath of Aire Choir. Margi loved music: playing piano, guitar and singing, along with many other instruments. She continued to teach even after retirement, traveling throughout Asia for 10 summers with the English Language Institute of China (ELIC). After raising her children, Margi returned to the classroom, teaching Elementary Music for the Clover Park, Federal Way and South Kitsap School Districts. She considered her seven grandchildren-Natalie, Jacob, Zachariah, Samantha, Naomi, Abigail, and Isaiah-to be a gift from God.Īfter college, Margi was a Kindergarten teacher for seven years in the Azusa School District. Together they built their home in Rancho Cucamonga, California before moving to Gig Harbor, Washington in 1989. Mike and Margi went on to have three children: Stephen, David and Katie. Margi first met her husband, Michael List, in the fall of 1970 at a singles retreat at Arrowhead Springs Conference Center. She went on to receive advanced certificates in several music teaching methodologies. Margi graduated with honors from Azusa Pacific College on Jwith a Bachelor of Arts. She was a cheerleader, choir member and secretary of her senior class. She graduated from Upland College Academy on May 31, 1963.
